Sunday, September 11, 2016

Today I had to break my 254 day streak. I had emergency gall bladder surgery and unsurprisingly didn’t feel like working.

Pretty scatter-brained today because of pain meds. But I did spend a bit of time working on this shawl.

I’m feeling the pink this week. Yarn, pages, all of it is pink! I got a wild hair and decided to work in my music journal because I felt pretty good today.

I was never very far from the couch today. I was very sleepy and tired so I just hung out and watched HGTV reruns on Netflix and worked on this pink thing.

I’d love to have my music journal finished before the new season starts but I’m not sure I’m going to make it. I think I’ve still got about 12 spreads left. And this was the last of the song lyrics that I’d printed out knowing I wanted to use. So now I’ve got to figure out other some additional things to go in there.

Recovery from surgery has looked like a lot of different things this week. My mom has been here to help take care of us while I sleep and hobble from the bed to the couch. Today the kids had a bunch of projects and homework so we all worked at the kitchen table on our stuff. My mom, or Mumsy as the kids call her, helped Liza with her school project of building a pirate ship out of all recycled materials. I worked on yarn. Eli worked on math. It was pretty chaotic but pretty good too.

If I have even half of the heart for people that Bono does, I will consider myself on the right path. Seemed fitting that I put a spread for him in my Season of Music journal.
