I enjoy this quote quite a lot. I also enjoy that giant beetle. Their symmetry and their colors appeal to me quite a lot.

The art journaling group that I belong to does a charity project every year and this year it is for the Malala Fund. You know I had to be all in on that one! I can’t show the full page, so here’s a little bit of it. I’ll be sure to let you know when the project goes on sale.

My art journal buddy, Vanessa, and I cooked up this project a few weeks ago. What would a book of spells look like? A book of creative spells? A book about words? We are swapping journals so you will be able to see both of them around Halloween. Stay tuned!

Some days are just off, you know? Things aren’t bad, they just don’t go the way you want them to. Today is that day for me. I’m firing myself from the studio and am heading off to watch bad tv.

In an attempt to salvage what I thought was wrecked, I went ahead and cut these postcards down to size and started adding some ink to them. I managed to create what looks like otherworldly rocks out of the piece that I thought I had ruined. I finished working on these on Saturday right before I went to the ER with massive stomach pain. Turns out my gall bladder was broken.
