An art journal that has some miles on it. I know I took it on at least three trips and it saw two rounds of covid.

Random Movie Lines Journal Flip Through
Some art journals just end up as catch alls. This is one of those. I started it for a class and then took it on a few trips. I added movie lines throughout it last summer when I had covid. So it became the random movie lines journal. Even while it’s a catch all book and some pages are clearly practice pages, there are a few pages that I adore:

A weird one for me
This book is unusual because it is a store-bought book. I like to make my own books but when it comes to watercolor books, store bought is usually better. It’s a 5×5″ square watercolor book by Field Artist. I did a quick Google search for it and can’t find it so I guess maybe the company has gone out of business since I bought it more than two years ago?
While I say store-bought watercolor journals are usually better, this one isn’t it. The paper was only so-so quality and so working on the back sides were definitely less enjoyable than when it was a frontside spread of watercolor paper. But the pages did hold wet media well so it had that going for it!
It’s weird in a different way because I worked in it when I had covid last summer and then again this summer. I remember both occasions so vividly because I was quarantined in my bedroom for over a week each time. I said in a newsletter recently that covid is my new back-to-school tradition that I hate.
