Women’s Work explores the theme of women’s traditional roles and how they choose to engage or not engage those roles. The women featured in these pieces and their stories are juxtaposed with crochet made by my maternal grandmother and my great grandmother, as well as new pieces I’ve made to further explore the line between traditional handicrafts and art. “Ashley” “Hannah” “Bekah” “Debbie” ($20 each) The last 4 pieces I’m finishing up of my show “Women’s Work” opening June 17 at @lowemillarts. ***** I’m very excited to announce that I will be donating ALL of my proceeds from this show to Women’s Prison Association’s (@wpa_nyc) arts program. You will be able to see each and every piece on my website the day the show opens and I encourage you to contact Robert Daniel the Lowe Mill gallery coordinator to make your purchase. Lowe Mill will get a commission and my portion will be donated to this fantastic organization once the slow closes at the end of July. ***** #mixedmediapainting #visualart #southernwomanartist #artistsofalabama #createeveryday #abstractartpainting #collagemaker #creativewomen #lifeofanartist #womensworkcollection #quarantineart #crochet #crochetlover #crochetaddict #yarn #yarnaddict #yarnlover
