I worked on this piece immediately after finishing “Honey” In fact, I gathered paper for them at the same time. This one was a quick piece executed over just a few days. Part of that is due to the small size and part of that is due to the fact that I had so many of the elements gathered so it was easy to piece together over the course of a couple of days.
This is Japanese Ogura Lace Paper that I’ve picked up on one of my many paper buying junkets. Anytime I’m in a major city, I raid the local art store for paper. This paper is made out of hemp and makes this super satisfying sound when it’s ripped. It was all I could do to keep from destroying the whole sheet.
