A few videos and quotes from around the internet that are inspiring me to get moving in my work right now. Don’t water it down.

What’s inspiring me this week
I think I’ve watched this video maybe five times now. What Amie says in this video is important (and we should all start practicing!) but I get excited by her excitement for my own subject. And I want to get started writing and making and talking about it all. So I think you have Amie to thank today for this new blog post.
Late in the video she talks about reclaiming our time from Zuck to make things and that the world doesn’t want us to use our power for that.
Then there’s this guy washing dishes and talking about dealing with your anxiety by being with others. It’s is inspiring me to hang out with friends. (Sorry this wouldn’t embed so you’ll have to go out to see it and come back!)

Lastly, Helen Wells posted this quote this past week.
“Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.”
-Anne Rice
You can read her whole post and see her video here. This quote is wrecking me in all the best ways. I needed the reminder to not pre-edit myself. The world is busy doing that for me enough. I don’t have to start out that process before I’m even finished cooking. I loved it so much, I wrote it on my hand so I could see it and continue to ponder it.
And then so…
These three things have come to my attention over the past week and they have lit a fire under me. I’ve been working on some new things and writing more. So I think? Maybe? I’m going to be posting more regularly. I’ve got a list of ideas written down so cross your fingers. And I’m feeling more energy for my work than I have in months.
I’ll leave you with this new work in progress. It’s a deconstructed seascape.

Amie has been inspiring me lately too! Have you checked out her book? I’m working through it slowly, like a meditation. Good stuff.
I don’t have her book! Going to add it to my list now!!
