Birthday Week Inspirations

It’s my birthday week! Turing 48 has me feeling some big feels. Looking toward 50 is both daunting and liberating. Daunting because where the heck did the past 25 years go?!!??? Liberating because I feel I am the most fully me I’ve ever been. So since it’s my birthday week, I’ve gathered a few things from my archives that entertain and delight me! I hope you enjoy them too.

Water lily time lapse

I think I’ve watched this video 4 or 5 times now and it’s still just so good.

Inhale/Exhale

I made this a few weeks ago and I’m still looking at it and in love with the colors.

Cake Balls

A few years ago when I was making a birthday cake for my youngest, I greased the pan with something weird. The cake fell apart and so I pivoted and made cake balls. We still talk about them as one of the best birthday “cakes” we’ve had.

Highest form of hope

This quote speaks to me deeply. We hope for so many things and art can be the embodiment of that hope.

These colors wreck me in the best possible way. I love those blues and pinks together. Talk about hope!

Father Bob

I made this tiny shrine for my friend Katie years ago. I love how it turned out with the REAL tiny watercolors and brush! It makes me giggly happy.
