This was a commission for a college friend who I’ve made several pieces for in commemoration of the birth of her children. They always have green in them and flowers or trees. Here are the two previous pieces I’ve made for her family:
In looking at them all together, I realize I’ve always put their names on the left side reading up. That was a completely unconscious choice but a lovely bit of continuity.

What is perfect about this particular friend commission is that she lets me run free. This piece was a huge experiment for me with the electric sander and I am just so pleased with the way it turned out. I’ve already made three more pieces like this and have another in the works.
